Planning a Rice Straw Boiler Project in Pakistan: An EPC and Factory Checklist

Prepare one shared project brief

Set out the factory location, process, normal and peak steam demand, working pressure and production schedule. Include plans for expansion and any restrictions on the site layout. Identify the people responsible for process data, utilities, civil works and equipment procurement.

Use one agreed brief when requesting proposals. This makes it easier to compare supply boundaries and avoids selecting equipment against different assumptions. Start with the biomass steam boiler range, covering steam output of 10–130 t/h, and request a project-specific configuration.

Confirm the rice straw supply chain

Record where the straw comes from, how it is collected, its delivered form and seasonal availability. Provide representative fuel-analysis results and explain storage conditions. Rice straw is the first priority; describe any proposed cow manure, rice husk or wood chip component separately.

Define site interfaces before shipment

Agree the scope for foundations, buildings, power, water treatment, feedwater, steam distribution, fuel handling and flue-gas treatment. Confirm equipment access and unloading responsibilities. An interface list should identify who designs, supplies, installs and checks each item.

Review installation and inspection requirements for the actual destination with the responsible local parties. Ask for the documentation relevant to the supplied equipment and agreed scope. Our qualification documents can support supplier review, but they do not replace project-specific approvals.

Plan commissioning and operator handover

Discuss site readiness, utilities, fuel availability and the people who will attend commissioning. Engineers can be deployed for on-site guidance within the agreed scope. Travel arrangements and timing should be confirmed before the site programme relies on them.
